Essay Prompt #11
“Sports do not build character. They reveal it.”
-What do the phrases “decide your position” and “argue your case” reveal to you about the type of essay you are to write?
-If you are an athlete or have ever played sports, be sure to include some real life examples in your essay. Even if you aren’t athletic, you can include examples you’ve seen while watching sports.
-It’s important to know your audience when writing a persuasive essay so you can cater your examples to that group. For example, if you’re writing for baseball fans, you wouldn’t use examples from football to prove your points.
